The Fargo HDP5000 badge printer is a high-definition, duplex, retransfer card printer which print & encode badges if an encoder is fixed. Designed to print & encode technology-rich cards, this user-friendly device easily handles the ridges and indentations caused by internal RFID antennae, integrated circuits and smart chips, without loss of print consistency. Fargo HDP5000 retransfer badge printer patented High Definition Printing technology ensures that there is never any contact between the print head and card, so there is no chance of damaging the internal electronics of the card. It will even print right to the edge of a smart chip and can print & laminate over the edge of a CR80 (credit card size) card. Clamshell cards of varying thicknesses (0,76 to 1,778mil) are also handled with ease. Print time is less than one minute (YMCKO / transfer). Optional, field-upgradable encoding units (Mifare/HID iClass and proximity and contact smart card) are available. Cards can be printed & encoded in a single pass, ensuring the cards are always encoded in order. A lamination unit can be added at a later stage to this Fargo HDP5000 Badge printer enable the application of a clear or holographic overlaminate to the cards for additional security and durability - see description below.
