Optical turnstiles operate much like regular mechanical turnstiles, except that they rely primarily on electronic (infrared) beams, and audible/visual interfaces to control entry. Durable and reliable, with an easy to service mechanism
The MR 100 half height Turnstile uses Hayward 's heavy-duty mechanism, which was designed and built to withstand the abuse of a modern day, high-traffic subway station. The components are fabricated both from hot rolled carbon steel and stainless steel. All steel parts are coated with black oxide and oil for protection. All shafts and pivot points are stainless steel and rotate about bronze or ball bearings. The turnstile mechanism is field upgradeable to add a variety of options.
Servicing of the MR 100 half height Turnstile is a cinch.
All parts are easily reached without the removal of the mechanism from the cabinet and most servicing take only a matter of minutes. - Technical Specification
1) Portable Feature :
The Portable MR 100 half height turnstile incorporates a sturdy non-slip, diamond tread base plate, with an attached guide rail. The width of the passageway between cabinet and rail is 18.5 inches. The Guide Rail is made from brushed stainless steel tubing 1¼ inch in diameter. Mounted to the back of the base plate are two high-density polyurethane wheels, 3 inches in diameter to facilitate movement of the MR 100 over most level surfaces.

3) Tamper proof admission counters:
Internal admission counters may be provided. Counters have large six digit liquid crystal displays and are powered by a 10 year lithium battery. The MR 100 half height Turnstile may be ordered with one or two counters:

Both entry and exit counters
The counters are capable of being reset with a key (optional).
4) Electronic Operation:
This option includes an unlocking solenoid and electronic interface board with adjustable time control (standard) capable of controlling one direction of traffic through an access control device (card reader, RFID, biometric reader). The adjustable time control may be used for automatic relocking of the turnstile if entry is not completed (adjustable from 0.5 to 60 seconds). All our turnstiles operate from 24 VDC low voltage.
5) Out of Service lock:
Manually places the turnstile out of service using a key lock.
6) Fail Safe:
Enables the turnstile to allow passage in the event of a power failure.
7) Status Lights:
Red and Green high intensity LEDs provide status indicators that can be mounted in the hinged lid or on the end of the cabinet.
They may be used in conjunction with a card reader to indicate the turnstile status, locked ready for presentation of card or equivalent entry token (red LED) or to indicate the turnstile is unlocked and ready for passage (green LED).
Alternatively, the red can be used to indicate the turnstile is out of operation and green that the turnstile is in operation.
8) Step Down Transformer:
120VAC to 24VDC step down transformer available.
9) Token Operation:
The MR 100 half height Turnstile can be equipped with an electronic coin or token acceptor which can be set for any size token or coin.
Appearance and Construction
The MR 100 half height Turnstile body has been designed with smooth, modern lines to blend with a variety of building architecture. The main body is constructed from 14 gauge carbon steel with a ¼" thick stainless steel base plate. Both are protected with a tough industrial-grade black powder coat finish (custom colors or Satin-stainless available). The top cover is made of type 304-brushed stainless steel and has space to mount special card readers, indicator lights and/or other add-ons. The double wall construction provides additional space for electronics and to conceal all fasteners.
